Jan Strand (Orkester Journalen)

Listening to Slava`s compositions you will notice a how each one in turn has a direction and meaning. There quality about them that gives the listener a feeling of wanting to hear more. This could be the result of the essence of Russian folklore and all the different ethnic influences that exist in that vast land…

I’m sure this “Nightfall” will turn out to be an exciting jazz experience for many   people. It is music, as Duke Ellington would have said, “beyond category”. Slava has put a lot of effort into creating worthwhile that will endure whichever direction jazz may be taking. This jazz doesn’t need to go anywhere else because it stands on its own here and now!
